JetPatch Named a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s “Modernize Windows and Third-Party Application Patching”
Gartner has named JetPatch as a Representative Vendor for third-party application updates in its report Modernize Windows and Third-Party Application Patching (Tom Cipolla, Dan Wilson, Chris Saunderson, 2 September 2021).
The research advises infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders on how to improve the efficiency and security of endpoint patching as Windows and third-party application updates arrive faster and workforces become more distributed.
What the Research Covers
Gartner outlines three focus areas for accelerating endpoint patching:
- Modern management for Windows updates: delivering OS updates and application patches regardless of whether devices are on the corporate network or VPN.
- Risk-based testing and ring-based deployment: matching the depth of testing to each application’s business criticality and complexity, then rolling updates out in expanding waves.
- Third-party application patching and automation tools: using tools that monitor, package and test updates for common applications, with workflow automation and better reporting on patch success.
Why It Matters
JetPatch was listed among the representative third-party application update vendors in the report. JetPatch automates patching across Windows, Linux and Unix servers and endpoints, including third-party applications through the JetPatch catalog, with sequence-based rollouts from QA to staging to production and compliance reporting built in.
